One Custom Channels compact audio player is required per site to support one zone of audio. Players ensure smooth music delivery with high quality AAC+ files streaming in real-time to all locations. Server redundancy with automatic failover to AWS, combined with a large internal buffer and small network footprint (<100 kbps) create a seamless listening experience.
The players are easy to install with intuitive operation and a sleek, buttonless design. All players are programmed, scheduled, and tested before leaving Custom Channels headquarters. Their client dashboard allows for easy adjustments and troubleshooting.
 
The Custom Channels player is designed to keep IT departments happy. Based on proprietary technology, their player and software offer no operating system security risk. All connections are initiated by the player and all traffic is routed through standard Port 80/443 meaning there’s no need to open ports on your firewall. Players can be easily configured for secure environments.

Network Requirements
The Custom Channels service maximizes audio quality while limiting network overhead. The service requires only 100kbps of continuous throughput with the occasional need for a “burst” connection of 1.5mbps in order to fill the audio buffer.
